The City of Arlington's Office of Communication recently talked to Rob Matwick, Texas Rangers Executive Vice President, Business Operations, for the latest episode of Ask the Experts on MyArlingtonTV, a quarterly program about the progress being made at the future Globe Life Field in The American Dream City.

In the latest episode, Matwick discusses the Rangers' relationship with the City of Arlington, how the new ballpark will be used as an entertainment venue and what the fans can expect at different events.

Matwick now plays a primary role in overseeing the development and construction of Globe Life Field, set to open to the public in March 2020. He joined the Rangers in 2008 and has been responsible for handling Globe Life Park facilities, event and ballpark operations, security, parking, concessions, merchandising and management of the centerfield office. Matwick was promoted to his current role in 2014, which added oversight responsibilities for business operations, communications, shipping and receiving, information technology and finance.

The Rangers executive was recognized by Major League Baseball with the Robert O. Fishel Award for Public Relations Excellence in 2001, was inducted into the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005, and in 2012 was named MLB Professional of the Year by the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security.
