Due to the coronavirus, some planned events at the new Globe Life Field have been temporarily postponed, including public tours, this Saturday’s Chris Stapleton concert, and the start of Major League Baseball’s regular season.

Country music star Chris Stapleton announced Thursday that his performance, which was set to be the first public event at Globe Life Field, will be rescheduled for a date to be announced later. The Rangers then announced that the official ribbon-cutting for the building, which was set to happen before the March 14 concert, would also be rescheduled.

Public and group tours at Globe Life Field, which were set to begin on Tuesday, March 17, will be delayed until after the first public event has taken place, the Rangers added.

Additionally, Major League Baseball announced changes that affect the Rangers’ schedule, including its planned home opener on March 31. MLB has suspended Spring Training games and will delay the start of the 2020 regular season by at least two weeks in the interests of the safety and well-being of players and fans. Updated game schedules will be announced as soon as possible, MLB said.
