Coronavirus Update

Later today, a team comprised of medical responders from the Arlington Fire Department, Texas Department of State Health Services, and Tarrant County Public Health will be testing all residents and staff members of the Texas Masonic Retirement Center for COVID-19.

Earlier this week it was confirmed that a senior adult resident of the Texas Masonic Retirement Center, who died on March 15, 2020, tested positive for COVID-19. The joint response team will be conducting the tests in order help to mitigate potential spread of the virus at the Masonic Retirement Center.

It is imperative that all citizens adhere to the following basic preventative measures to protect themselves from COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

  • If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick

  • Stay home when you are sick.

  • If you are experiencing difficulty breathing, or persistent fever, call your primary care provider.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your sleeve.

  • Frequently clean and disinfect touched objects and surfaces.

  • Maintain appropriate distance from people, considering 6 feet social distancing.
