Happy Easter written over a field of flowers

Families across Arlington will celebrate Easter Sunday in entirely new ways this year. As we all work to stop the spread of coronavirus, it’s crucial to practice social distancing. But that doesn’t mean your favorite traditions can’t continue. They just may look a little different.

At-Home Activities:

Now is the perfect time to get creative. You don’t need a fancy kit to dye eggs at home. Just use the vinegar and food coloring you already have on hand.

Your family can still enjoy egg hunts at home. Just keep the celebration limited to immediate family and household members.

Decorate your front door with Easter decorations. This will give your neighbors something to enjoy on their daily walks. You can also organize a socially-distanced neighborhood decoration hunt.

If you don’t feel like cooking Easter dinner, many Arlington restaurants are open for takeout and delivery.

Online Church Services:

Whether by phone calls and texting, online streaming, social media or home visits while practicing proper social distancing, church leaders across Arlington are finding innovative ways to connect and engage with members this Easter.

Visit an Arlington Park:

Arlington parks and trails are open, but you must keep six feet of space between yourself and other visitors. Enjoy a nice walk or ride through the park, but please keep the celebration at home. Confetti-filled eggs are also prohibited at all City parks.

Also note, all park restrooms, water fountains, playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball hoops and volleyball courts have been closed until further notice.

This is an ongoing effort to be proactive in protecting the health and safety of our citizens and visitors. Arlington Parks and Recreation wants to thank customers for their patience and understanding as the community navigates through the coronavirus pandemic.
