Your family's school experience might look different than you're used to, but you still want the best for your kids. The Library is here to help with a variety of free digital options! Whether you're looking for a fun but educational break in your day, or need help working on a tricky subject, we have a resource for you.
Some of these tools require an Arlington Public Library card. (AISD students can use their lunch number and the PIN 1234 to sign in.) Users may also need to create an account with the digital service. Library staff is available at (817) 459-6900 from Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., for assistance with accounts.
Expert Help from Live Tutors
Get real-time help from expert tutors with Brainfuse! Tutors are available to chat every day between 2 and 11 p.m. Help is available for students in kindergarten up to 12th grade, plus help for some college subjects. You can also study for the SAT and ACT. If you're stuck on any of your work, make Brainfuse your first stop.
Extra Help with Assignments
Get help with assignments and boost your skills with SchoolCenter by LearningExpress. Learning resources are available for elementary school, middle school, and high school. From beginning reading and math in elementary school up to ten different subjects in high school, this online tool can help students (or parents!) feeling stuck.
Math Fun for Elementary Students
TumbleMath offers math ebooks aimed at kindergarteners through fifth grade. If you’re not sure where to start with your child’s math work, try the quiz portal, which breaks topics up by grade level. From counting in kindergarten to geometry and algebra for older students, there is something for every concept. TumbleMath is mobile-friendly and streams from your browser. It does not require an account.
Talking Visual Databases for Early Learners
Explore animals, biographies and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) for young learners with Abdo Zoom! This free resource is full of pictures and easy to navigate. Plus, it talks to you! Click on any picture and Abdo will read about it to you. Abdo Zoom is a great way for young students (up to second grade) to explore the world. Abdo Zoom is provided for free through June 2020. An account is not required.
