The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation contributed nearly more than $5.5 million through 11 grants last fiscal year to enhance city services and support a variety of charitable causes across The American Dream City.
The grants, both large and small, included $25,000 to provide childcare benefits to frontline healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and $35,000 to establish a Boys & Girls Club branch inside the newly renovated Arlington Life shelter. Other projects supported included those that aim to increase access to healthcare, food and affordable housing, educational activities for disadvantaged youth, and those that enhance the city's cultural and recreational opportunities. One of the grant recipients was Miracle Fields of DFW, who received $200,000 to make accessibility improvements to the youth ballpark’s parking lots.
The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation also made a generous first in legacy gift this past fiscal year to support the future National Medal of Honor Museum, set to open in Arlington in 2024.
Between May 2007 and September 2020, the foundation has awarded 435 grants totaling approximately $27.6 million to local charities and City Departments who work each day to make Arlington vibrant and strong through educational and recreational opportunities, arts and culture, and social services.
Of those grants, $11.5 million was awarded to City departments and $16.1 million was awarded to charitable organizations in Arlington.
