"On the Clock" is a show that gives residents an inside look at the hard work city employees do every day to make Arlington a better community to live, learn, work and play.
This month"s show features the Arlington Fire Department.
The episode, hosted by City Manager Trey Yelverton, highlights the effort and training of Arlington Fire Department"s dive and rescue teams responding to water emergencies.
In 2015, the City"s dive and rescue team made 27 rescues out in the water, in addition to helping stranded boaters.
Before members of the team are ever allowed to dive for any operations, they are required to obtain a basic open water certification.
Arlington Fire Department"s rescue team operates with various technical tools including boats equipped with side-scan sonar and full facemasks and wet suits for divers.
The City"s Office of Communication develops programming for MyArlingtonTV. Viewers can find MyArlingtonTV programs on the following cable systems: Time Warner Channel 16 and AT&T U-Verse channel 99, and streaming capabilities at www.arlington-tx.gov.
All episodes are also available on the City"s YouTube channel, Facebook page and Twitter account.
