UT Arlington baseball's Fall World Series opens on Monday with first pitch slated for 3 p.m. at Clay Gould Ballpark. The three-game series continues with games on Wednesday and Friday.

"It's just intersquad basically, but just a little more competition and maybe a little bit more on the line," UT Arlington coach Darin Thomas said. "I just hope we get out of it healthy and knowing what we have. I just want to give those guys as many opportunities to show us what they can do and it will give us the chance to move them around to different spots and pitch them in different roles so we have a good idea of what we have heading into the spring."

The series will consist of three nine-inning games between the Blue team coached by Troy Dean Conkle and the Orange team coached by Fuller Smith.

The Mavericks are coming off of a 33-26 season that ended with a 6-5 loss to Louisiana in the Sun Belt Conference title game. UTA had a record number of players taken in the 2014 MLB Draft as six Mavs were selected, raising UTA's all-time draft total to 48 players.

The Fall World series is free and open to all fans with each of the three games set to begin at 3 p.m at Clay Gould Ballpark.
