About Tierra Verde
Tierra Verde offers 18 holes of golf, each with five sets of tees, sculpted fairways, strategically placed bunkers and water hazards and is accentuated with native grasses. Golfers are presented the opportunity to utilize all of the clubs in the bag to navigate Tierra Verde Golf Club. The four Par Threes vary from 140 to 230 yards with each oriented in a different direction to bring into play varying wind conditions. The Par Fours vary in yardage from 259 yards to 480, giving rewards for proper club selection. The Par Fives include two holes with greens out of range in two strokes for the normal player. The remaining Par Fives are reachable in two strokes, however, they hold classic risk versus reward scenarios. Tierra Verde is designed to encourage strategic shot placement and reward calculated risks for the player.
The Club also offers a lighted driving range, putting green, practice bunker, teaching facility with video swing analysis, and private or group lessons by a staff of PGA professionals, including Amy Fox who was voted the 1999 LPGA Teacher of the Year. There is also a full-line pro shop and restaurant inside of the clubhouse.
Tierra Verde Golf Club was designed by Graham and Panks International, whose teams adhered to the strict planning standards and environmental principles of Audubon International. Audubon International is an environmental organization whose mission is to improve the quality of the environment through research, education and conservation. As a result, Tierra Verde is the first golf course in the state to achieve Audubon International Signature Certification.
The Dallas Morning News rated Tierra Verde Golf Club one of the top ten best new golf courses of 2000. Additionally, Tierra Verde has hosted the North Texas PGA Club Pro Championship Tournament in 2000 and 2001 and was host to the Byron Nelson Qualifying Tournament in 2002.
The Tierra Verde Golf Club is located at 7005 Golf Club Drive in Arlington. The phone number is 817-478-8500.
