Arlington's East Branch Library is now offering a new experience in the picture book section for parents and children. Patrons can now find books organized by themes.

In a recent library patron survey, 55% of parents and 45% of children selected picture books based on themes. The new theme-based organization of picture books will meet the needs of how patrons prefer to search for and select books. Each picture book's spine displays a label with the recommended age and an illustration depicting the theme of the book.

Children interested in a specific theme will also be able to find similar books on the same bookshelf. For example, parents will be able to find numerous books about trucks within the same section. Other themes include: Animals, Nature, Sports, Growing Up, Concepts and more.

Come spend time with your kids exploring the picture book shelves at East Branch. Let's see what kid-friendly fun you can find at the library. Be sure to check out books to bring adventures to your home.

East Branch Library is located at 1624 New York Ave. in Arlington.
