Arlington Tomorrow Foundation annual report

The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation understands the art of philanthropy.

Between May 2007 and September 2021, the foundation has awarded nearly 500 grants totaling approximately $38 million to local charities and City Departments who work each day to make Arlington vibrant and strong through educational and recreational opportunities, arts and culture, and social services.

In the past year alone, the endowment contributed nearly more than $9.6 million through 34 grants last fiscal year to enhance city services and support a variety of charitable causes across The American Dream City.

The grants, both large and small, included $69,000 for Arlington’s Four-Day Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Advancing the Dream Celebration, $26,620 for Arlington ISD Education Foundation’s Back to School Kickoff event, $50,000 for SafeHaven of Tarrant County, and $2 million for Theatre Arlington renovations. Other projects supported included those that aim to increase access to healthcare, food and affordable housing, educational activities for disadvantaged youth, and those that enhance the city's cultural and recreational opportunities. One of the grant recipients was Downtown Arlington, which received $10,000 for a community health and wellness program and $34,000 for the recent Ramblin’ Roads Music Festival.

The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation also continued its support of future National Medal of Honor Museum, set to open in Arlington in 2024. The foundation has awarded a combined $5 million in grants for the museum, which includes last year’s $1.5 million grant for the architectural design.
