Learn More About Upcoming Construction for ADA Pedestrian Paths Near Downtown Arlington

The Public Works Department is pleased to announce another project in support of their ongoing effort to increase pedestrian mobility and accessibility will begin construction this spring. Beginning in May, work to create continuous ADA compliant pedestrian paths at the following locations will get underway:

  • Front Street (West Street to Mesquite Street)
  • Main Street (Mary Street to Jeffries Street)
  • Nathan Lowe Road (S. Cooper Street to Petra  Drive)
  • South Street (College Street to Spruance Street)
  • West Street (W. Division Street to UTA Boulevard)

Residents interested in learning more about the project are invited to participate in a public meeting on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 6-7 p.m. in [re]Brary Room B in the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, located at 100 S. Center Street, Arlington, TX 76010. The purpose of this meeting is to provide general project information and answer any questions concerning construction. There will be a short presentation detailing the scope of the meeting followed by a question-and-answer session.

This project aligns with the City Council’s priorities to Champion Great Neighborhoods and Enhance Regional Mobility.
