Get Ready for Summer with Arlington Parks and Recreation’s May Events

Spring is coming to an end and summer is right around the corner. Mark your calendar for these upcoming May events with Arlington Parks and Recreation! This month is filled with fun activities and programs for a variety of ages and interests.

(Momma) Squeeze the Day! – Friday, May 6

Come have a relaxing morning at East Library Recreation Center and SQUEEZE the day from 10-11:30 AM! Enjoy some tea sandwiches, treats, and a fun time making exfoliating scrubs to take home. Participants will also have the chance to win a soothing spa item! This is a great way to celebrate Mom by spending time together for Mother’s Day.

Spring Time Slime – Saturday, May 7

Are you a slime connoisseur? Who doesn’t love a good DIY slime craft! Celebrate spring at Cliff Nelson Recreation Center by whipping up all different kinds of homemade slime. Participants will be able to slime their instructor at the end of class. Join us Saturday, May 7 at 10 AM for this slime-tastic event!

Lights, Camera, Murder – Friday, May 13

It's time to attend the hottest Hollywood party of the year. You'll socialize and schmooze with Hollywood's elite. Careers will be made, secrets will be revealed, and a homicide will happen. Are you ready to crack the biggest scandal in Tinseltown? Join us on Friday, May 13 at Cliff Nelson Recreation Center to see if you can solve the case at this murder mystery experience! This event is for ages 18+ and will begin at 4 PM.

Beacon Fitness Play Day – Saturday, May 21

Come enjoy all kinds of fun interactive fitness games at The Beacon Recreation Center! This monthly program offers kids ages 5-12 the opportunity to get their wiggles and giggles out with friends through a variety of indoor activities focused on creativity and physical fitness. Fitness Play Day is held once a month on a Saturday from 10-11 AM. Click here to register!

Memorial Day Pool and Splash Pad Openings – May 28-30

Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center and Bad Königshofen Family Aquatic Center will be kicking off summer by opening on Memorial Day weekend! Splash pads will also open daily beginning on Memorial Day weekend. Free splash pads are located at California Lane Park, Brantley Hinshaw Park, and Don Misenhimer Park. You can also enjoy the newest splash pad located at The Beacon Recreation Center with a day pass for $8 (free for members).
