Arlington Water Utilities recently added a new assistance program to help customers who meet certain income thresholds pay past-due bills or restore water service that has been disconnected for nonpayment. Residents of Arlington can apply for payment to be made on their behalf through the Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) online at: https://www.fortworthtexas.gov/departments/neighborhoods/cap/apply. LIHWAP assistance is managed by Community Action Partners and the City of Fort Worth, but it is available to all Tarrant County residents who qualify based on their income. The website above also lists locations where in-person applications can be made.

Applicants for LIHWAP assistance must be the account holder or authorized users on the water utilities account for which they are requesting assistance. Arlington Water Utilities customers can visit ArlingtonTX.gov/KnowYourH2O to view and print their most recent Arlington Water Utilities bill.  After logging in, go to the “Bills and Payments” tab on the left side of your screen.

Arlington Water Utilities also offers bill payment assistance to customers facing economic crises through its Care and Share program, a partnership with local nonprofit agencies. The City of Arlington recently started a Minor Plumbing Repair Assistance Program for homeowners who need assistance funding minor plumbing repairs. Household leaks, such as a worn-out toilet flapper or seal, can lead to higher-than-normal water bills. Please visit ArlingtonTX.gov/CareandShare to apply for assistance from those programs.
