FY 23 Budget and Business Plan

Residents can learn more about the City of Arlington's $595 million proposed Fiscal Year 2023 operating budget at two upcoming town hall meetings.

These in-person budget town hall meetings are scheduled for

• 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 at the Arlington Police Department South District Service Center, 1030 SW Green Oaks Blvd.

• 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29 at the Council Chamber, Arlington City Hall, 101 W. Abram St.

About the Budget

The proposed budget for the next fiscal year includes a recommendation for a property tax rate reduction for the seventh year in a row, and increases for residents’ water rates, the garbage collection rate and storm water fee.

The Council will vote on the budget in September after a series of public meetings. The fiscal year begins Oct. 1.

The City Council will also schedule a public hearing during its 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 meeting on the proposed budget and whether to reduce Arlington's property tax rate from $0.6198 cents per $100 of assessed value to $0.5998 per $100 of assessed value. The proposed rate decrease is one of the largest in the City’s history.

The proposed budget and business plan is built around supporting the City Council's six priorities: Champion Great Neighborhoods, Support Youth and Families, Invest in Our Economy, Enhance Regional Mobility, Leverage Technology and Build Unity.
