On Thursday morning, Reliant and the Dallas Cowboys surprised an Arlington ISD teacher with a $4,000 grant and spirited celebration featuring Cowboys Legend George Teague, Cowboys mascot Rowdy and Reliant mascot Hugo.

Alyce Monroe, a high school teacher at Arlington ISD’s Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center, was recognized for her exceptional work as part of the Cowboys Class Acts program powered by Reliant.

“I’m extremely overwhelmed and just blessed for this honor. I can hardly believe it. I have 10 people on my team and I could not do what I do for kids without that team,” Monroe said. “I learn as much from my kids as I teach them, sometimes more.”

In addition to the grant, Monroe was presented with a jersey featuring her last name by former Dallas Cowboys player George Teague.

“Ms. Monroe is an example of the teachers we have at Arlington ISD. She goes above and beyond. She is exceptional. The kids love her because she pours into them,” said Dr. Marcelo Cavazos, Arlington ISD Superintendent.

Cowboys Class Acts honors educators who constantly encourage, lead and strive for excellence in the classroom. For the 2022-2023 school year, Reliant and the Dallas Cowboys will recognize six teachers across the DFW area for their phenomenal work empowering our youth.

Last year, Reliant and the Dallas Cowboys awarded $24,000 in grants to teachers across North Texas who made a positive impact in their communities. Since the program’s inception, Cowboys Class Acts powered by Reliant has recognized 14 outstanding teachers with nearly $50,000 in grants.
