Here are a few ways you can enjoy your weekend in The American Dream City. 

North Texas Giving Day

Celebrate North Texas Giving Day in person at the Levitt Pavilion Arlington 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022. The community is welcome to attend and enjoy local food trucks and a concert by the Brad Thompson Band. The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation is celebrating 15 years of giving, and during the upcoming North Texas Giving Day will be awarding 21 bonus grants totaling $115,000 to local nonprofit organizations and hosting a free community concert at the Levitt Pavilion downtown. North Texas Giving Day is an annual 18-hour online giving event, coordinated by the Communities Foundation of Texas that encourages residents to contribute to the nonprofit organizations of their choice. All contributions made between 6 a.m. and midnight on this day are matched in part by the Communities Foundation of Texas. Since 2014, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation has sponsored free Arlington Gives! community concerts and awarded 60 grants totaling $345,000 to recognize and highlight Arlington-based nonprofit organizations and to help North Texas Giving Day contributors' dollars go even further.

Rangers host Guardians 

Your hometown Rangers host the Cleveland Guardians at Globe Life Field for a three-game weekend series. First pitch for each game is slated for 7:05 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, 6:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, 1:35 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022. On Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, the Rangers host Mexican Heritage Night, with promotional giveaways. On Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, the Rangers will have Fan Appreciation Day. Everyone attending the 1:35 p.m. Rangers-Guardians game that Sunday will receive a ticket to a 2023 Texas Rangers regular season game. Ticket information can be found on the Rangers’ website

Splash & Dash Junior Triathlon

Join the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department for the First EAST Splash & Dash Junior Triathlon 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2022 at the East Library and Recreation Center. Athletes will swim laps in our indoor pool before heading outside to bike and run around Bob Cooke Park. Distances will be determined by age. Participants should bring their own bicycle, towel, or any other desired equipment. Cost per participant is $35 which includes event registration, finisher’s medal, and post-race snacks. Arlington Garden Club’s Plant Sale

The Arlington Garden Club hosts a Plant Sale 9:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022 at Fielder Museum, located at 1616 W. Abram St. in Arlington. They will offer pollinator-friendly native and adapted perennials.

Fright Fest returns to Six Flags Over Texas

Enjoy the family-friendly thrills by day and the scariest frights by night at Six Flags Over Texas’ Fright Fest starting select nights Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022 through Monday, Oct. 31, 2022. There are new attractions, events and more. Get the low-down by visiting Six Flags Over Texas’ website.

Arkansas and Texas A&M battle at AT&T Stadium 

The Southwest Classic returns to AT&T Stadium Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022 featuring the Arkansas Razorbacks and Texas A&M Aggies. Tickets are available now on SeatGeek.com.

KC & The Sunshine Band takes the stage at Levitt Pavilion Arlington 

Get the disco attire ready as Levitt Pavilion Arlington hosts KC & The Sunshine Band Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. followed by opening act Retrophonics at 7:30 p.m. and the main act at 9:00 p.m.. There will be vendors food trucks and more. This is a ticketed show.
