Dog of the Week – Meet Skateboard
This thee-year-old male Great Pyrenees mix is white, black, and brown in color and weighs 93 pounds. Yes, this dog is named for the classic surfboard on wheels that continues to be as awesome as it was "back when". This dog is awesome just like his namesake. He provides hours of entertainment and fun. He loves being around the staff and volunteers but really enjoys being invited to do a "meet and greet" with a family. Having been in the shelter for nearly a month, he's eager to make one of those "meet and greets" last much longer...by being adopted. This gentle giant does well on leash and loves being outside. Cat of the Week – Meet Mara
This one-year, nine month-old female Domestic Shorthair is a blue, cream and white Calico. Mara is a longtime resident of the shelter (over two and half months), due to having been brought in with her newborn kittens. Her babies have grown up and "flown the coop" (been adopted). She is still waiting for her chance to be adopted by a loving family. While being somewhat bashful at first she's a real sweetheart when given the time to warm up to you. Mara is very patient but she would love to be adopted so she can practice being a cat (AKA as running a household) and lounge in her own "window on the world".
