On Sunday, September 11, 2022, at approximately 11:17 p.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to the southbound lanes of State Highway 360 near Arkansas Lane to investigate a reported collision between an SUV and a pedestrian.

When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male lying in the roadway and a 2013 Range Rover Sport stopped on the shoulder with its hazard lights flashing.

The driver of the Range Rover told officers she was merging onto Hwy 360 from the entrance ramp when the man suddenly ran in front of her vehicle. Based on their investigation, officers believe the man was attempting to cross Hwy 360 from east to west when he was struck. It’s unclear why he entered the highway lanes.

Immediately following the collision, the driver of the Range Rover pulled over and called 911. She is not facing any charges in connection to this incident.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.

The department would like to remind the public that pedestrians should never attempt to cross a highway – and that doing so is extremely dangerous for both the pedestrian and highway traffic. Pedestrians should instead use designated sidewalks along overpasses and underpasses if they need to get across a highway.
