1. Galactic Swag Expo

Meet some of the actors behind your favorite sci-fi and anime characters. Esports Stadium Arlington is hosting the Galactic Swag Expo this weekend. Along with meet-and-greets, you'll also see replicas of the genre's most iconic vehicles, from the Batmobile to the Millennium Falcon. Single-day tickets are available along with weekend passes. 

2. Throwback Party at Texas Live! 

Former *NSYNC member Chris Kirkpatrick is coming to Arlington Friday to host an 80s vs. 90s party at Texas Live! There will be throwback music, costume contests and drink specials. Tickets start at $10. 

3. National Night Out Kickoff

Arlington goes all out for National Night Out. In fact, no other city has a higher participation rate. And this year, we're starting the party early with a special kickoff event Saturday morning. Head to the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library at 10 a.m. to learn more about throwing your own National Night Out party. There will also be games and a presentation from Arlington Police.

4. Murder Mystery Night

This is your chance to play detective. The George W. Hawkes Downtown Library is hosting a murder mystery Friday night. The event is "Mad Men"-themed and free to attend. You're encouraged to dress in 1960s style. If you'd like to be a suspect, arrive at 6:45 p.m. Otherwise, the detective work starts at 7. 

5. Kidz Laugh

Head to Zingerz Comedy Club Saturday night for a family-friendly comedy improv show. Children get in for $5, which includes popcorn and a drink. 

6. Boxing at UTA

It's fight night Saturday at UT Arlington. Maurice Hooker will face Jose Ramirez at College Park Center. Tickets start at $25.

7. Champions of Magic: Summer Spectacular

Prepare to be amazed Saturday night when the Champions of Magic perform at Arlington Music Hall. Five illusionists will perform everything from vanishing acts to great escapes. Tickets are $5 for children and start at $19 for adults. 

8. Cornhole Tournament

Are you the king or queen of yard games? Prove it Saturday at the Arlington Cornhole Tournament at Legal Draft Beer Co. Registration is $40 per team. There will be prizes for winning team, best dressed and best name. The event is a fundraiser for Junior League of Arlington, and all money raised goes toward abuse prevention services in Tarrant County.  

9. Brunch + Yoga at Sanford House

How about a #SelfCareSaturday this weekend. Start your morning with a yoga class from Arlington Yoga Center in the Sanford House Courtyard. Then head inside for a mimosa and brunch specials. Tickets are $15. 

10. Full STEAM Ahead

The team at Walmart wants to make sure learning is fun. The South Cooper store (4801 S. Cooper) is hosting "Full STEAM Ahead" Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Kids can tie-dye shirts, make their own slime or cereal necklaces. The event is free.
