The Arlington Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) recently approved $100,000 to create the Strategic Solutions Fund, which will provide eligible companies with grants designed to pay for training or services offered by TMAC.

The Arlington Economic Development Corporation and the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC) announced today a new grant program, the Strategic Solutions Fund, that aims to help Arlington-based companies accelerate their growth and profitability.

The Arlington Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) recently approved $100,000 to create the Strategic Solutions Fund, which will provide eligible companies with grants designed to pay for training or services offered by TMAC. These services and trainings are geared towards helping enhance and improve a company’s workforce, processes, facilities, technology, sustainability, and productivity.

“Supporting our local manufacturers as they look for growth opportunities is important to the long-term economic success of this community,” AEDC Executive Director Broderick Green said.

TMAC is the Texas representative of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership National Network and works with Texas businesses to help develop and improve their profits, products, processes, technology, and people. TMAC is based out of The University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute but is comprised of 8 regional offices across the state all housed in institutions of either higher education or research.

“TMAC is excited to be a part of this endeavor. We are looking forward to assisting local manufacturers utilizing this grant. We pride ourselves as being part of the city and helping with the profitable growth of local manufacturers.” TMAC Regional Director Charaee Tropp said.

Companies seeking to participate would be required to:

  • Obtain a free TMAC facility/organizational-assessment and recommended scope of work;
  • Submit a program application to AEDC;
  • Agree to programmatic and performance criteria required by the AEDC.

Companies selected for the program will be required to demonstrate the retention of existing operations and jobs within Arlington, at a minimum, and sufficiently identify how TMAC services will contribute to the growth of capital investment in the facility, revenue, sales, productivity, savings, and/or jobs.

Companies interested in the program can visit ArlingtonTX.gov/EDC to learn more or attend an online webinar at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023. Please click here to register for the webinar.
