Women’s History Month: Great Women Scavenger Hunt

Spend this week learning all about the amazing women in history and their accomplishments with this awesome scavenger hunt in honor of Women's History Month. This is available all day during open hours at the Ron Wright Lake Arlington Library.

Scream Break 

There's nothing quite like celebrating Spring Break at Six Flags Over Texas! Hang out with your friends or family and hop on to one of your favorite thrill rides. Scream breaks runs Friday, March 9 – Saturday, March 16, 2024. Click here to learn more. 

Little Explorers – Downtown Library 

Stop by The Play Room at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library on 10 a.m. Fridays for a morning of play-based learning.  This come-and-go program will vary week-to-week as librarians explore art, math, science, engineering, and fine motor skills.  Join the Arlington Public Library as we playfully discover the world around us!  Designed for ages 1-4. Family Storytime – Southeast Branch Library

Join the Arlington Public Library’s fabulous library staff to sing, read and wiggle during storytime at the Southeast Branch Library 10:30 a.m. Fridays. This storytime is geared for ages 2-5. They will read books, sing songs, and have an activity after the program each week. Tween and Teen Hour of Code

Tweens and teens ages 10-17 are invited to spend an hour learning the basics of computer science and coding. This program is ideal for those with very little to no coding experience. You’ll meet in the Explore computer lab on the 2nd floor of the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library. 4:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024. April sessions: JavaScript and Python. While no previous coding experience is necessary, basic computer and typing skills are recommended. Registration is required.

The American Rodeo 

Mark your calendars to join us March 8-9, 2024 for an action-packed weekend highlighted by the American Performance Horseman and the American rodeo at Globe Life Field. You won’t want to miss this action-packed weekend featuring world-class talent and the best in Western sports.

Adult Game Night

Join the Arlington Public Library for a fun game night for adults 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Woodland West Branch Library. There will have board games, card games, and group games going. Feel free to bring your own too!

Friday Night Skate

Friday Night Skate is back 7-10 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024, at Elzie Odom Athletic Center. You will have a blast skating with your friends, playing games, and participating in skating activities throughout the evening. Two slices of pizza and a 12oz drink are included. Shows at Arlington Music Hall

The Arlington Music Hall has shows you can enjoy this weekend. You can experience Vaughan vs Hendrix Featuring Texas Flood 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024, and then 8 p.m. Saturday, March 9, it’s Charlie Aponte En Concierto! Click on the event for ticket information.  

Outdoor Storytime at River Legacy Nature Center

Join the Arlington Public Library at River Legacy Nature Center for stories and nature with a special outdoor storytime, weather permitting, 1:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024. The program will be moved indoors in the case of inclement weather. Click here to register.

Day Trip – Winstar Casino

Join the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department walking the fields of tulips and take home three beautiful flowers in Pilot Point. Afterwards have lunch at Legacy West, shop, and get dessert. The event is scheduled for 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, meeting at the Elzie Odom Athletic Center. To register for the event, click here

Pet Adoptions Event

Join Arlington Animal Services mobile adoption truck will be at PetSmart at Arlington Highlands with furry friends to meet 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024. Stop by to visit with an adoptable pet to get some pet therapy and possibly a forever friend. Cannot make it to the event? Summer Job Prep 

Get ready to land your dream summer job as you learn all the tips and tricks to get hired! The event takes 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the East Library and Recreation Center. This interactive seminar includes interview prep, resume tips, how to dress, what to look for in a job, and more. At the end, you will get the opportunity to speak with our seasonal hiring team to learn more about jobs with the City of Arlington. Click here to register!

New York Times Bestselling Author Max Brallier 

Join the Arlington Public Library 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Arlington City County Chambers for a very special event featuring popular children's author, Max Brallier. This event is free and open to the public, but space will be limited. Immediately following the event will be a book signing for attendees to have an opportunity to meet the author.

Cricut for Beginners

Join the Arlington Public Library as you design and cut using the Cricut Design Space Software 3-6 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library’s Tinker Room. This class is limited to the first 8 in attendance and is appropriate for ages 13+.

Billy Joel & Stevie Nicks
