Dog of the Week – Meet Hershey
This just over three years old male Shepherd mix, red and white in color and weighing 67 pounds is the selected "spokesdog" representing all of the VIP Adoptable Pets in the shelter. It's an Egg Extravaganza (maybe we should say "Eggstravaganza") at the shelter where selecting an egg will allow you to adopt an animal for $5 to $25 during the month of March. But an even better deal is available—only a $5 adoption fee for any of our VIP pets in the shelter! Our VIP dogs are available for adoption and listed as VIP for different reasons—amount of time spent in the shelter, needing more space in the shelter, senior pets over eight years old, heartworm positive dogs, special needs, or at the discretion of the Animal Care Supervisor or Shelter Manager. Most VIPs are due to time spent in the shelter. Anyone searching for a new best friend online or visiting the shelter can get more info from a team member about the pet they are interested in. We love sharing stories and information about our shelter pets! All of our dogs, VIPs included, have had only positive interactions with people and other dogs in the shelter. If you currently have a furry companion at home, we encourage you to bring them with you for a "meet and greet" with your prospective selection helping to ensure a smooth transition with your pet. Our shelter continues to remain at capacity for large dogs, so please consider opening your heart and home to a VIP dog in need of a loving "furever" home.
