Pets of the week

Dog of the Week – Meet Bristow

This three-year, one month old male German Shepherd mix is black and brown in color and weighs 66 pounds. This canine selection is a big, beautiful pooch that is ready to bestow (or "bristow") himself on a family he can call his very own. He has been practicing his leash walking and improves each time he gets to go out to the play yard. Since cooler temps have arrived, he has had more chances to enjoy outside playtime. After some practice and treat encouragement, he will agree to "sit" or "lay down" on command. Bristow is a gentle but playful dog that loves being with people. He shows some curiosity of other canines in the shelter. Because German shepherds require a lot of physical and mental exercise, a new pet guardian should be willing to provide physical and mental stimulation. Bristow is considered a VIP pet in the shelter with a reduced adoption fee. Meet Bristow at Dog Adoptions (DA) 16, his ID number is A53933048.

Second Dog of the Week – Meet Clover

This three-year, one month old female Pit Bull Terrier mix is brown and white in color and weighs 47 pounds. Clover is one of the shelter's current longtime residents having been here for over 50 days. She was brought in under protective custody and is now available for adoption. She has a tendency to be a little shy, but she is oh, so sweet. Our volunteers have been really good at giving her that extra time that she craves for being with people. Kennel staff checks on her regularly and she loves the extra attention. Since the shelter can be loud and scary at times, Clover is much happier out in the play yard or in a meet and greet with a potential adoptive family. She loves to get out to stretch her legs and does walk well on a leash. With a little more practice (and a few more treats), Clover should "ace" the command of "sit". It shouldn't take her long to master that command. Due to her time in the shelter, Clover is considered a VIP designated pet with a reduced adoption fee. Meet Clover at Dog Adoptions (DA) 6, her ID number is A53844391.

Adoption fees include all core vaccinations, alteration and microchip.
