'Golf Digest' Ranks Arlington, Home to Texas Rangers Golf Club, Among Best Baseball Cities for Golf

Arlington’s Texas Rangers are headed to the World Series this week, but baseball isn’t the only sport on people’s minds. Golf Digest recently ranked Dallas/Fort Worth, which is home to Arlington’s Texas Rangers Golf Club, as one of its “Best Baseball Cities for Golf.”

The City of Arlington and the Texas Rangers partnered to open the world’s only Major League Baseball-branded golf course in 2019. The golf club at 701 Brown Boulevard is the closest 18-hole public golf course to Arlington’s Entertainment District, offering golfers a chance to play in conjunction with a visit to a Rangers, Cowboys or Renegades home game, Texas Live! concert, or the numerous other events at AT&T Stadium, Choctaw Stadium, Globe Life Field, UTA or Downtown Arlington.

Designed by Arlington native John Colligan and Trey Kemp on the site of the old Chester Ditto municipal course, Texas Rangers Golf Club takes advantage of 55 feet of elevation changes on the property and boasts large undulating greens. The clubhouse features Home Plate Restaurant and Patio, pro shop, locker rooms and numerous rental and event spaces. The full service restaurant and bar is open to the public daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Patrons will enjoy a made-from-scratch menu and 10 beers on tap, paired with spectacular golf course vistas. There are wall-to-wall TVs for your sports viewing pleasure, including 31 TVs within the restaurant and bar alone.

Open to the public daily and site of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Veritex Bank Championship, the Texas Rangers Golf Club earned “Best New Course” acclaim by the Dallas Morning News in 2020, and was also named the second-best renovation in the world by Golf Inc., in 2019.
