Dog of the Week – Meet Twinkle
This four-year, one month old female Shepherd mix is tan and black in color and weighs 56 pounds. It's hard to see the twinkle in this dog's eye because her "smile" is so engaging. She seems to have a happy go lucky attitude about life. Spending time in a meet and greet with a potential adopter gives her a break from being in her kennel but she hasn't found the best fit yet for a new pet guardian. When Twinkle has a chance to go out to the play yard, it really gives her a chance to burn off some pent-up energy. Like other dogs she does best with room to roam and stretch her legs. Twinkle has been in the shelter over 38 days, so she has achieved VIP status for the amount of time spent in the shelter. It would really be a great achievement if she could be adopted before January comes to a close; however, as long as she gets adopted, that is the main thing. Second Dog of the Week – Meet Buddy
This two-year, one month old male Pit Bull Terrier mix is black and white in color. This canine is also a "smiler" (see his photo). Ironically, Buddy came to the shelter the same day as Twinkle (featured above) and has the same desire to find a new pet guardian SOON. He also enjoys meet and greets and going outside to stretch his legs. He interacts well with staff members and volunteers alike. Walking well on a leash needs a little practice but Buddy just needs a little time to master the concept. All Buddy needs to complete HIS new year's resolution is a family to step up and adopt him.
