The Southwest Arlington Geocachers (S.W.A.G ) has been meeting every Wednesday evening at No Frills Grill on Little Road since 2008. Robert and Donna Bruton started the group with a handful of geocachers to share the joy of geocaching. Since then, the group has grown to fill up the party room every week, and on some weeks, we overflow out into the restaurant area. SWAG has given the opportunity for many new geocachers to make friends with others and form small groups who go out geocaching together, creating countless stories from adventures around Arlington, Texas, and even long distance trips to Nevada and other states. Last year the group welcomed Brian, a student from Denmark who was spending the year at TCU in the College of Education. We now are "international' and count Brian a good friend! As a Parks and Recreation partner, SWAG has helped coordinate many CITOs (Cache in Trash Out), helping to clean heavily littered stretches of roads and creeks and recently adopted a highway and will be cleaning a two-mile stretch of South Cooper at least once a quarter for the next two years. Thank you S.W.A.G. for helping to Keep Arlington Beautiful. To find out more about S.W.A.G. please visit their Facebook page.
