2013 Arlington Christkindl Market Opens

Ever wonder what Christmas is like in Germany? Head on over to the third annual Arlington Christkindl Market near Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, which features a variety of authentic German holiday products, food, music, live entertainment and family activities. Enjoy the fireworks show and formal tree lighting by the Christkindl Angel during the opening ceremony on Friday at 5 p.m. Visit www.arlingtonchristkindl.com for a full schedule of sponsors, entertainment and events. Parking and admission are free.

Enjoy Arlington's Beautiful Tree Trails

Take in some of the state's finest tree trails this Saturday at 2 p.m., as regional forester Courtney Blevins teaches visitors about the structure, function and value of trees. You can learn more about the Texas Tree Tails program and its benefits of identifying trees, learning about historical trees and accessing trees and tree trails using the Texas Trees Trails Web site. This workshop is best suited for ages 10 and up. Space is limited; please RSVP to 817-860-6752. Free, donations accepted.

The Parks at Arlington is Twinkling this Holiday Season

Let the little ones take a picture with Santa this weekend during a visit to The Parks at Arlington. You can find Saint Nick in his newly decorated Holiday Living Room on the lower level near Nordstrom Rack. Santa does take breaks to feed the reindeer, so visitors are advised to check with one of his elves, call or visit the website for his schedule. Photo packages start at $19.99.

Rally Day at AT&T Stadium

Head on over to AT&T Stadium for Rally Day, a fun event for the entire family, this Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This fun event includes:

  • A tour of AT&T Stadium (self guided or with a tour guide)
  • Activities such as bounce houses, a video game truck, and more for kids
  • Photo opportunity with Rowdy the Cowboys mascot
  • Pictures and autographs of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
  • Appearances by Dallas Cowboys alumni Ed Jones, Everson Walls and Chad Hennings

Santa is Headed to Boomerjack's Grill

Be sure to catch Boomerjack's Santa as he makes his way around the Arlington Highlands in the Boomerjack's mobile. He'll have candy for all the good girls and boys and will be available for photographs. While you're there, try one of Boomerjack's great burgers and fresh-cut fries. Friday, noon to 8 p.m; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Arlington Museum of Art: Mitch Wilson Memorial Festival of Trees

Catch the holiday spirit by visiting the colorful Mitch Wilson Memorial Festival of Trees at the Arlington Museum of Art, 201 W. Main Street, which runs through December 29. This exhibition features Santa Claus illustrations and paintings by artist Tom Newsom, trimmed trees and other holiday decorations, a gift store, artist demonstrations and much more!
