The Office of the City Auditor in partnership with Convercent, a technology company, provides an independent Fraud, Waste and Abuse Hotline Service for the City of Arlington. The hotline service is available to City employees, contractors, and individuals who want to report improper or illegal activities directly related to City of Arlington government internal operations. The purpose of the service is to ensure that any individual wishing to submit a report anonymously can do so without the fear of retribution.
If you would like to report a crime committed against you or another person, please contact the City of Arlington Police Department at 911. If it is not an emergency, you may call 817-274-4444 or submit a Police Report online via the City of Arlington website/Police Department.
Individuals are encouraged to use the hotline service in cases where anonymity is desired. Please follow standard practices for all reports or issues not requiring anonymity. Reports may cover but are not limited to the following topics:
- Fraud
- Waste
- Abuse of Power, Authority, or Control
- Accounting/Audit Related Complaints or Concerns
- Compliance and Regulation Violations (Non-Financial)
- Conflict of Interest
- Ethics Violation
- Falsifying Documents
- Section 8 Fraud
- Theft (Financial & Other) by City employees or contractors
- Unsafe Work Conditions
- Other
The toll-free number and website for Convercent are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
(This hotline is not intended to be a venue for reporting crime that is not associated with the City’s internal operations.)
Please note that the information provided by you may be the basis of an internal and/or external investigation into the issue you are reporting and your anonymity will be protected to the extent possible by law. However, your identity may become known during the course of the investigation because of the information you have provided. Reports are submitted by Convercent to the City Auditor’s Office.
Certain violations of the City’s Code of Ethics may be referred to the Ethics Committee as allowed by Administration Chapter Article 12 of the City’s Code of Ordinances.
