The Arlington Public Library is putting technology to work and making improvements in 2019 to your digital library experience.
Beginning Jan. 2, 2019, the following improvements for digital services will be available:
- New! Log in to My Account at the top of our website to see your account at a glance. See requests, items out, current fees, and edit your preferences in My Account. While your account is currently accessible through our website, we're excited to make the log in option more visible.
- New! Download the Arlington Public Library app in iTunes or the Google Play store. Our new app works as your library card. You can also see your requests, items out, and current fees; access library databases, and scan any book's barcode to search for it in our catalog.
To improve consistency and increase access across all our digital resources, the following changes will also take place on Jan. 2.
- Your library card number must be used to log in to all library resources. Custom usernames will no longer be used to access accounts, public computers, databases, or any other library service.
- Accounts must have at least a four character password which can be numeric, alphabetic or a combination. Patrons with an email address on file may reset their password online, or staff can assist with resetting password in person at any service desk.
- To access the free public Wi-fi at any location, patrons must agree our Computer Usage Policy.
Staff at any location are ready to help with these transitions. Visit any service desk to reset your PIN/Password, get a replacement library card, or just learn more about the updates.
