Lake Arlington Garden Volunteer

Arlington Water Utilities and Tarrant Regional Water District are working with local conservation stakeholders and community groups to restore native prairie and wildflowers to 2.75 acres of land adjacent to the Lake Arlington Dam. This gated area will also feature demonstration garden beds with native plants and a gathering area for gardening classes, field trips, and other community events. Click here to become to volunteer.

Environmental Management - Texas Stream Team

The Texas Stream Team is a network of trained volunteers and supportive partners working together to understand and protect Texas waterways. Texas Stream Team is administered through a cooperative partnership between Texas State University, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Hundreds of Texas Stream Team volunteers collect water quality data on waterways throughout Texas. The City of Arlington is a Partner with the Texas Stream Team Program by supporting local volunteers who perform sampling in Arlington. Click here to learn more!

Southwest Branch Library Garden 

The Stormwater Education Program and Tarrant Regional Water District are seeking local volunteers to assist Arlington’s Bee City Program with the maintenance of the new 1000 sq ft (.03 acres) Southwest Branch Library Native Plant and Pollinator Garden.  The new demonstration garden features native plants which attract native bees and other pollinators, and the garden area will provide space for presentations on the value of gardening with native plants for stormwater pollution prevention, water conservation and pollinator protection.
