Arlington celebrated several milestones recently that further confirm what our residents already know - our community is a great place to live, work, play and learn!
Our latest Champion Great Neighborhoods newsletter highlights just a few of these accolades, including the Parks and Recreation Department bringing home the 2018 National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Parks and Recreation Management. The Gold Medal Awards program honors communities in the U.S. that demonstrate excellence in parks and recreation through long-range planning, resource management, volunteerism, environmental stewardship, program development, professional development and agency recognition.
The newsletter also includes SmartAsset naming Arlington as one of the most affordable cities in the nation for early retirement and the fantastic neighborhood participation across The American Dream City during the 35th annual National Night Out event in October, which was awarded first place in the country.
All quarterly City Council priority newsletters are now produced in a digital formal, allowing for layers of additional video content and important links.
The Arlington City Council has identified "Champion Great Neighborhoods" as one of five key priorities. Great neighborhoods contribute to a higher quality of life and greater investment in our economy.
