Small-Business-Saturday

Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018 is Small Business Saturday – a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities. Please support your favorite small businesses across The American Dream City this holiday shopping season.

An estimated 108 million shoppers in communities across the country, including here in Arlington, spent $12.9 billion at independently owned businesses during last year’s Small Business Saturday. When you shop or purchase services from small businesses rather than larger chain stores, more of your money tends to stay in the community. Shopping at small businesses energizes the local economy, supports job creation, and creates more choices for consumers.

“Small businesses are growing in Arlington and the City Council places a major emphasis servicing them and their needs,” Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams said. “In the last year we created a new small business customer service program, designated a city liaison for small business and signed an agreement with the Arlington Chamber of Commerce to promote small business in Arlington.”

Our partners at the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation have compiled a list of Downtown small businesses who provide a personal touch, a unique shopping experience and fun atmosphere for you to check out. Several businesses around Arlington are also participating in pop-up markets to showcase their goods and services.
