It's beginning to look more like Christmas in The American Dream City.
On Monday, a 54-foot Blue Spruce from Michigan arrived at Arlington City Hall ahead of the popular Arlington Holiday Lights Parade. Make plans now to bring out the family to enjoy the parade, which begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 on the corner of Lampe Street and W. South Street in Downtown.
In keeping with tradition, the official tree lighting ceremony will follow the end of the parade at around 7 p.m. This year's tree is located at the northwest corner of the City Center Plaza between City Hall and the new George W. Hawkes Downtown Library.
"It's a great way to totally immerse yourself in the holiday spirit," parade participant Geri McNiece said. "It keeps me coming back year after year."
This free holiday event is perfect for the whole family, and a great way to connect with other Arlington residents. Free parking is available throughout Downtown.
"People come to the parade to support the Arlington community and create an environment so that our youth and families can flourish," parade spectator Kristine Behrhorst said.
More information about the parade, and a complete list of sponsors, can be found
