The City of Arlington's state-of-the-art George W. Hawkes Downtown Library was among 30 tour sites selected as part of the Texas Society of Architects' recent 79th annual Conference and Design Expo.
Architects from across the state explored the three-story, 80,000-square-foot stone and glass library, which opened next to City Hall in June. Besides housing an impressive collection, the City's Downtown library features flexible meeting and classroom space, an interactive DISCOVER wall, digital art labs, a teen section, a reading room, automated book return, a rooftop garden and other innovative amenities.
