Interested in being among the first to catch a ride in a self-driving shuttle? Come try out Milo and provide the City of Arlington with feedback about your experience.
The City of Arlington is now booking rides on four upcoming dates to provide the public an opportunity to check out the Miloautonomous shuttle service.
Arlington is leasing two of these electric shuttle vehicles as part of a one-year pilot program to explore autonomous transportation technology in a real-world setting.
The rides, which are free, are available from 9 a.m. to noon on August 29, September 7, September 9 and September 30. Those who are interested must reserve their ride online at www.arlingtontx.gov/milo. Because seating is limited, rides are only guaranteed to those individuals who receive confirmation by email from the City. Rides can be booked for between 1 and 11 passengers.
Riders will be asked to participate in the survey about their experience.
"Feedback from the public is one type of data the City hopes to gather over the next year as it tests this new transportation technology," said Marketing Communication Manager Jay Warren.
Starting August 26, the Milo shuttles will operate approximately one hour before and one hour after major events at AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Park in Arlington's Entertainment District. The shuttles are programmed to run along select off-street trails in Richard Greene Linear Park and Robert Cluck Linear Park between the two venues and will pick up and drop off passengers at designated stops.
