UT Arlington women's tennis claimed three titles at the SMU Invitational on Sunday, completing the three-day event at the SMU Tennis Complex.
The Mavericks doubles parings swept their respective flights with Elizabeth Thoms and Astrid Gehre taking the Red Draw championship, while Angeles de los Rios and Agustina Serio claimed the Blue Draw.
After finishing Day 1 with a 6-0 record, the Mavs finished 16-5 between their doubles and singles matches, reaching five finals amongst the seven draws UTA participated in.
Serio highlighted UTA's singles play as she claimed the Black Draw title with a 6-4, 6-3 win over TCU's Mia King. Gehre reached the White Draw championship after knocking off SMU's Dasha Sharapova in the semi-finals. Gehre lost 6-4, 6-2 in the finals.
Thoms and Gehre faced a challenging draw in doubles. The pair defeated a team from TCU and SMU on the way to the final. UTA took the championship with a 6-4 win against a duo from UTEP. De los Rios and Serio opened up with wins over UTEP and Abilene Christian before downing Louisiana Tech 6-1. Gehre and de los Rios each claimed their second doubles title of the fall season. The pair won as a team at the Midland Classic in September.
The Mavericks continue their fall slate at the ITA Texas Regionals on October 22, 2015.
