Reserved and Club Seats Are Sold Out For the College Football Playoff Semifinal.
Classic Opens Up Standing-Room-Only Ticket Sales.
The College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic will be played in front of a packed house on New Year's Eve. The Classic announced today that the 80th Goodyear Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium is officially sold out of reserved and club seating.
For the first time since the Classic's move to AT&T Stadium in 2010, the Goodyear Cotton Bowl is placing a limited number of standing-room-only tickets (Spirit Passes) on sale to the general public before knowing the participating teams. The Spirit Passes are priced at $75 per ticket.
"The college football season just kicked off, but you can see the excitement building towards New Year's Eve already," Dan Novakov, Chairman of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic said. "The level of support we see each and every year from Classic season ticket holders goes to show how significant this game is to the fabric of our community. With a standing-room-only crowd expected, this year's Classic may just break the all-time record for attendance at the Cotton Bowl."
Since making the move to AT&T Stadium, the Classic has sold out each of the last six years and generated four of the top five largest crowds in the 79-year history of the Cotton Bowl. The attendance record occurred when Ole Miss defeated Texas Tech in front of 88,175 fans at the final Classic in Cotton Bowl Stadium in 2009.
"Fans have been lining up ever since it was announced that the Goodyear Cotton Bowl would be a part of the New Year's Six and join the semifinal rotation," Amy Scott, VP of Ticket Sales & Services said. "The Classic has returned to the top-tier in postseason college football, and based on the fact we're putting Spirit Passes on sale this early, you can see that fans realize just how monumental this semifinal will be."
In addition to the Spirit Passes, a limited number of luxury suites have been made available. For more information on Spirit Passes and suites for the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, please visit www.cottonbowl.com.
