'Ask Arlington' is a show dedicated to answering the questions you have about what's happening in our city. Each week, on the City's social media pages, we'll let you know what the topic of the 'Ask Arlington' episode will be. All you have to do is post your question and we'll do our best to get it answered during our show.
This week's show features Chris Huff, Arlington Animal Services manager, to answer your questions about how to help pets find their furr-ever homes during Clear the Shelters Day this weekend.
Fees will be waived for dog or cat adoptions at the Arlington Animal Services Center between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, August 19 as part of the national Clear the Shelters initiative.
Regular adoption prices are $90 for cats and kittens and $100 for dogs and puppies. Those costs include sterilization, vaccinations, city license, microchipping and free health testing services. These fees will be waived for the one-day event.
Arlington Animal Services officials hope to help at least 100 dogs and cats find new homes through this year's Clear the Shelters event.
'We encourage Arlington residents and surrounding areas to join us in this day of action to help 'Clear the Shelters' and gives dozens of homeless animals a chance at a new life,' Huff said. 'It's a great day to adopt!'
Limit of two pet adoptions per household.
