Shop for handcrafted items, enjoy live music and experience a bit of Arlington's early history at the 14th annual Front Street Festival at Knapp Heritage Park this weekend.
The annual festival aims to give residents a glimpse into pioneer life on the Texas Plains. Visitors can watch historical re-enactments and artisan demonstrations and tour each of the buildings at the downtown park, which contains two log cabins, a one-room school house and a working blacksmith shop.
The festival is set for 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, September 29 at 201 W. Front Street, north of City Hall. The entry fee ranges from $3 to $5. In addition to live music, the festival also features artisans selling goods such hand-poured candles, handmade jewelry, and more. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the music.
Additionally, the Arlington Garden Club's plant sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of the festival. Proceeds benefit the flower beds at the Fielder House.
