Fully Autonomous Transit Vehicle in Arlington

The public is invited to ride in a self-driving, fully autonomous transit vehicle when the Alliance for Transportation Innovation (ATI21) 2017 Autonomous Vehicle Road Trip arrives in Arlington for demonstrations on Thursday, Feb. 2.

Arlington is among the first stops on a cross-country road trip hosted by ATI21 and presented by Transdev, with support from EasyMile, Splunk and HDR. The tour aims to give people across the country an introduction to the safety and life-changing benefits of self-driving vehicle technology.

Transdev, a leader in providing mobility solutions, including the operation of autonomous vehicle (AV) passenger shuttles, will showcase how AV Shuttles can be part of an integrated regional transportation system. The vehicle on display will be an EasyMile EZ10 fully autonomous driverless shuttle. During the test ride, the EZ10 will demonstrate its capabilities, while Splunk will demonstrate how operators can remotely monitor the shuttle's performance at any time.

In addition to ride opportunities, the ATI21 visit includes a roundtable with local business and government leaders to discuss how Arlington can become a leader in the deployment of self-driving vehicles.
