WinCo Foods, a 24-hour supermarket, is expected to open in Arlington in late September.
The 86,000-square-foot store, located at 4620 S. Cooper Street next to Hobby Lobby, has scheduled a grand opening for Thursday, Sept. 29.
WinCo Foods is known for bringing organic, specialty and regular products all together under one roof. Shoppers will notice low prices throughout the store, which will include rows of bulk items more than 750 varieties from grains and flours to nuts and herbs and three types of honey. The store also will feature an on-site bakery, seafood counter and a wide selection of coffee beans.
A vacant 66,000-square-foot Sports Authority was torn down to make way for the new grocery store.
WinCo Foods is an employee owned company founded in 1967 in Boise, Idaho. It currently has more than 15,000 employees and operates 110 stores and distribution centers in Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California, Oregon, Arizona, Utah and Texas. Arlington will be the 9th Texas location for the discount grocer.
WinCo Foods, which is currently hiring, expects to employ more than 170 full-time and part-time workers for the Arlington store. Click here for more information or to apply online.
