Shaunda Poster, born and raised in Arlington, will tell you she was preparing for her broadcast communication career her whole life and didn't know it.

The 2013 UT Arlington graduate entered college with the intention of pursing a life in interior decorating. A little more than three years in, she realized her passion for the profession wasn't present like it was for her entertainment and promotion jobs at CBS Radio and as a Texas Rangers' Six Shooter.

After a period of reflection, she decided to switch her major to broadcast communication. "It was like I'd found my home," she said. "This is what I'm supposed to be doing."

With a solid network already in place for her new direction, Shaunda went all in with a positive attitude, discovering opportunities to advance her career every which way. While still in school, she landed a sideline reporting gig with TXA 21 for high school football and a broadcast internship with the Dallas Cowboys.

Now, she works full time as the UTA Libraries Visual Media Coordinator with one foot solidly planted in the sports broadcast arena. Many residents may recognize her from Cowboys games, where she is the TV studio host for the in-stadium pre-game and halftime broadcasts. She is also the in-game host for FC Dallas and does work for "Tailgate Rivals," a show on Fox Sports Southwest.

Shaunda is grateful to live and work in a city with bountiful options that has allowed her to try new things and follow her passion.

"To me the American Dream is being able to thrive and take advantage of opportunities in a place where you can call home," she said. "Arlington is thriving with great opportunities. You can set up your wildest dreams and achieve them because we live in such a great place."
