The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released the results for the 2016 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) exam, and Mansfield ISD outperformed state averages in all categories.
MISD exceeded the state's average passing rates for the STAAR test (grades 3-8). Students in those grades were tested in reading, math, writing, science and social studies. State averages were also surpassed in the STAAR End-of-Course (EOC) exams, which assesses English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology and U.S. History classes.
'At Mansfield ISD, we are truly committed to excellence,' said Holly Teague, associate superintendent of curriculum, instruction, and accountability. 'We see improvements from previous years, and we're proud of the hard work of our students and staff.'
