Remember Turtle. She lived on this earth 11 and a half years, but her memory will live on forever in the hearts of thousands. Turtle was known as Pitcasso, or the Painting Pit Bull of the animal world, as she helped educate more than 8,000 Arlington youth through her story of survival as she and her owner, Kristie Miller of Respect A Bull, Inc. fulfilled their dream.

Miller plans to share the story of her beloved Turtle and their amazing adventure together with others at the upcoming Pet Grief Session on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Animal Services Center located at 1000 S.E. Green Oaks Boulevard.

Pet Grief Volunteer Coordinator Dottie Johnson leads the Pet Grief Sessions on the fourth Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. where pet parents have a safe, supportive environment to express feelings about the loss of their pet. Stories are shared, through tears and at times, laughter about fond memories of pets by bereaved owners.

Custom engraved brick paver memorials are available through donation to forever pay tribute to your pet, a loved one, etc. on the commemorative Arlington Animal Services walkway.

Are you or someone you know grieving the loss of a treasured pet? Grief is a normal, healthy and natural response to loss. Save the date if interested in attending.
