A resident of Arlington since 1986, Gigi Erwin has a passion for keeping her city clean.
Erwin currently serves on the Board for Keep Arlington Beautiful and is proud of the mile long stretch of road that she has committed to keep clean for the next year. She is also known as DJ GURRL, providing disc jockey services at weddings, children's hospitals, private parties and corporate events.
Erwin approaches all activities, whether it be entertaining, volunteering, working with the citizens of Arlington, or spending time with her family, with a dedication to excellence.
Erwin said she wants the citizens of Arlington to realize that they can make a difference in their community.
'If you love your neighborhood you will stay, make friends, and help improve the quality of life there not only for yourself and your family but for others too. A person with this mindset will seek and help create those opportunities,' Erwin said.
The Keep Arlington Beautiful's 'Adopt a Spot' program offers just such an opportunity, she said.
'The program gives me a chance to give back to my community and to see the difference I make,' Erwin said.
Keep Arlington Beautiful (KAB), in association with the Arlington Parks Department announced a campaign for the removal of litter from public right-of-ways such as parks, streets, and trails in June 2015. The program related to the removal of litter from public right-of-ways such as parks, streets, and trails is growing rapidly.
An on-line application form along with guidelines on how you can adopt a spot is available at the Keep Arlington Beautiful webpage at keeparlingtonbeautiful.com under the Adopt- a- Spot tab.
