CATS (Creative Arts Theatre & School) has been a staple of the Arlington community since 1978, but in July of 2012, a fire destroyed the children's theatre's long-time home on Randol Mill Road. Since that time, CATS has leased a building in downtown Arlington on South Street, and maintained a rigorous class schedule and presented family-friendly theatrical productions. The current space housing the nonprofit organization has become economically unfeasible and must be vacated by the company by August 31, 2015. CATS needs to secure new space for its valuable performing arts programming once again, and has launched a GoFundMe campaign to underwrite the pending relocation.

"We are really hoping to land on our feet once again. Our board is searching for a new location to house the organization, and, of course that's not an easy task," stated Heather Simmons, who has served as Executive Director of the organization for the last five years. CATS has scheduled programming in the South Street building until August 14, which is the last date of summer camps. On August 14, CATS plans to announce its fall class schedule and location. Registration will be available on the organization's website at www.creativearts.org. Supporters of the organization are urged to donate to the Build for Our Future campaign at www.gofundme.com/CATSArlington.
