You could win the 16th annual Animal Essay Contest!
Each year, the contest regularly draws over 1,000 entries. All students residing within Arlington city limits in third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades that attend public, private, or home school are encouraged to submit an original, thoughtful, and creative essay. The essay must be 500 words or less, focusing on multiple elements of effective writing.
The contest begins Monday, December 5, 2016. Essay entries may be submitted beginning on Monday, January 9, 2017. The deadline for entry is at 5 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017.
Each winner will be presented with a Kindle Fire HD compliments of Arlington Professional Fire Fighters Association and the City of Arlington. Each winner will also receive a $100 savings account, compliments of EECU, Arlington Professional Fire Fighters Association and the City of Arlington.
Winners will be recognized during a regular meeting of the Arlington City Council on March 7, 2017.
