Two water main breaks that occurred last Friday are expected to cause delays for drivers through this week.
Two lanes of southbound Matlock Road between Interstate 20 and Stephens Street will remain closed at least until Friday, July 8. The 30-inch water main that broke in that section has been repaired but the road will remain closed until the new concrete has been poured and cured.
Drivers are encouraged to take Cooper Street or Collins Street to travel south of Interstate 20.
Another 30-inch water main break has caused the closure of the eastbound lanes of nearby Bardin Road between Matlock Road and Vandergriff Drive. The water main is expected to be repaired by tomorrow, July 6, but the section of roadway is expected to be closed at least through Monday, July 11, because of concrete repairs.
Eastbound traffic on Bardin Road has been diverted to one of the westbound lanes during the repairs.
