Light Up Arlington 2015
Friday, July 3

Light Up Arlington brings great food, fireworks and live music to Downtown! Vendors and activities for all ages kicks off at 6 p.m. with fireworks starting at 9:45 p.m. There will be live music on the Levitt Pavilion stage from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass (8:45 p.m.), Brad Thompson (7:30 p.m.) and more. For a complete schedule of activities, just head over to www.lightuparlington.com. Food trucks, train rides, a caricature artist, face painting and glow-in-the-dark items will also be for sale at the event. The City's Office of Communication will also be there handing out some Arlington gear. We hope to see everyone Friday night in The American Dream City!

50th Arlington 4th of July Parade
Saturday, July 4

Arlington's iconic 4th of July Parade - the largest in Texas - turns 50 years old this Saturday. More than 50,000 spectators decked out in red, white and blue are expected to line several streets in Downtown Arlington. We want to help you make it a fun-filled day by sharing some important parking and traffic information. Residents and visitors can find parking information by clicking here. The downtown parade features marching bands, military color guards, dignitaries and beauty queens waving from the back of convertibles. The City's Office of Communication will also be there handing out some Arlington gear. We hope to see everyone Saturday morning in The American Dream City!

Rally Day at AT&T Stadium
Saturday, July 4

There's no better way to celebrate Independence Day than an afternoon with America's team! Rally Day at AT&T Stadium is happening Saturday, July 4, from 12-6 p.m. This event features activities and games on the field for kids and autograph opportunities. Rowdy, the Cowboys mascot, will be there along with the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders and Dallas Cowboys alumni D.D. Lewis, Rocket Ismail and Dixon Edwards. Tickets for the event are available online at Ticketmaster.com. For the VIP guided tour, tickets are $27.50 for adults and $22.50 for kids/seniors/military. The self-guided tour is $17.50 for adults and $14.50 for kids/seniors/military.

Coca-Cola July 4th Fest at Six Flags Over Texas
July 3-5

Six Flags Over Texas is also celebrating our Nation's independence in style this weekend! Bring a Coke can (Season Pass holders must also bring a can of coke) for early entrance and ride times. At approximately 9:45 p.m. each night - Six Flags Over Texas and Coke will present a fireworks and Laser extravaganza at the front gate. During the day, guests can stroll the park snacking on scrumptious treats like churros, ice cream sundaes, and funnel cakes. The celebration runs at the park Friday, Saturday and Sunday (July 3-5). Early ride times for those who bring a Coke can are listed below:

Green Mountain Energy 2015 Summer Concert Season at Levitt Pavilion
July 2, 3 & 5

It's time for more free summer concerts at the Levitt Pavilion! This year's Green Mountain Energy 2015 Summer Concert Season continues Thursday, July 2 at 8 p.m. with old-school roots rock 'n' roll band, The Statesboro Revue. On Friday, July 3, it's singer-songwriter Brad Thompson at 7:30 p.m. and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band takes the stage at 8:45 p.m. There will be no concerts on Saturday, July 4, but one of America's hardest-working touring acts, The Band of Heathens, pick up the action at the Levitt on Sunday, July 5 at 8:30 p.m. The Levitt Pavilion's Summer Concert Series continues every Thursday through Sunday until July 12. Arlington Museum of Art Presents Toulouse-Lautrec and La Vie Moderne: Paris 1880-1910

Art lovers can check out a new exhibit at Arlington Museum of Art in Downtown this weekend! The exhibit contains almost 200 pieces from avant-garde Post-Impressionist artists working in a new French "modern" style. Built around the work of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, painter of scenes and artists from the famed Paris theatre the Moulin Rouge, this expansive exhibit will explore the anti-establishment movement among artists seeking alternative means to bring their art to a broad public and break out of the traditional molds. The exhibit is open to the public until Sunday, August 16, 2015.

Fantasy in Sand

Fantasy in Sand featuring The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a unique family experience that tells the story of characters we all know so well - Dorothy, Toto, the Wizard, the Wicked Witch of the West, the Scarecrow and more - through intricately carved sand sculptures, some of which are 20 feet tall. Tickets are on sale now at Arlington.org/fantasyinsand. General admission tickets are $19.99 with discounts available for kids (ages 11 and under), active military and groups. The experience is located at Parking Lot F by Globe Life Park in Arlington and will run through Sunday, August 23. The experience will stay open late on weekend nights when the Texas Rangers play home games so baseball fans may enjoy both events while in Arlington.
